A Future Without Waste: How to Achieve Sustainable Development Goal 12?

SDG 12 calls for responsible consumption and production, which is key to the sustainable development of our planet

What does this mean in practice?

Efficient use of resources – reducing waste of water, energy, and materials at all stages: from resource extraction to the use of finished products.
Responsible consumption – minimizing waste, proper sorting, and recycling trash.

Implementing sustainable practices in industry – introducing environmentally safe processes, using renewable energy sources, and safe materials, and minimizing production waste.
Each of us can contribute to achieving this goal by making conscious choices in everyday life:

  1. Buy products with minimal or no packaging.
  2. Use reusable items: bags, bottles, and containers.
  3. Sort waste and support local recycling initiatives.
  4. Choose products from manufacturers that follow sustainable, ethical, and ecological standards.
  5. Use energy-efficient devices and turn off lights and electronics when not in use.
  6. Only buy what is truly necessary and will last long.
  7. Prioritize repairing old items instead of buying new ones.
  8. Choose locally produced goods, reducing the environmental impact of transportation.
  9. Be mindful of food and plan your purchases to avoid food waste.  Encourage as many people as possible to engage in responsible consumption.

Change your approach to consumption today – together, we can make the world cleaner and more sustainable!
