SDG progress in 2025

This September marks ten years since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the UN Summit.

What progress has been made, what can still be achieved, and why do the SDGs matter for Ukraine in 2025?

Over the past decade, the world has changed dramatically. New challenges – war, climate crises, economic shocks, and rapid technological shifts – have made global priorities even more urgent. Yet, the SDGs remain a guiding compass toward a more just, sustainable, and secure future.

For Ukraine, the SDGs carry a special meaning. While our focus is rightfully on survival and supporting the Armed Forces, the Goals remind us of the essentials: quality education, healthcare, ecological security, innovation, and tackling social inequality. All 17 goals are interconnected — progress in one area directly influences the others.

Much has already been achieved. Awareness of environmental issues is growing, social entrepreneurship is on the rise, and local communities are increasingly embracing sustainable development.

But there’s still a long road ahead. With five years to go, we can still drive real change — from daily habits to large-scale projects – if everyone plays their part.

In the coming posts, we’ll explore how each Goal shapes our lives and communities.
